Firelands Watershed Farm Program

The Firelands Watershed Farm Program (FWFP) was started by Erie County Coalition for Local Resources to offer local restaurants and retails food grown sustainably in the Firelands Watershed. (read more about sustainability)

The Firelands Watershed refers to Sandusky and Huron-Vermilion in this NOAA map.

Why is this important?

Purchasing food from Farmers in the FWFP:

  • Promotes Economic Growth for Ohio Producers
  • Creates Jobs for Ohio Producers
  • Supports Local Family Farms
  • Cleans up our Firelands Watershed from pesticide and petroleum based fertilizers
  • Reduces Environmental Impact from food mileage
  • Supports a Fresh Food Diet
  • Stimulates Sustainable Growth

The FWFP connects restaurants and retails with harvest dates and prices from Farmers within the Firelands Watershed. To learn more and become part of the program – email: eriefresh@gmail.com
